We feel gushy whenever we see that wedding scene in Love Actually, but if you’re not planning on hiring vocalists for your first dance performance, then you’ll probably want to take a listen to this lovely acoustic cover by Clementine Duo.

 

This cover of John Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ is a soft and gentle song to share your first dance to. Performed by American singer-songwriter Jack Johnson, we reckon this is one that will have everyone welling up throughout! John Lennon co-produced this song with his wife Yoko to imagine a world at peace with no barriers. 

Cameron Bedell and Megan Davies beautiful acoustic version of The Weeknd’s hit track ‘Earned it’ is up there as one of our favourites. Okay, so it's not strictly a love song, but it featured in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie, so there's maybe an element of love there...sort of? Either way, this cover makes a truly gorgeous song for your first dance with the incredible vocals from Cameron and Megan.

 Ellie’s gorgeous tones in this cover of Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ which was originally released in 1970 is simply stunning. It’s a song fit for royalty too as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge selected this as the song for their first dance – Awww!

You can't go wrong with this beautiful love song by the talented Bruno Mars - it makes for a truly romantic song to share your first dance to and will really be one to remember!

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Sam Smith any more, we listen to his acoustic version of Latch, and boy does it make our hairs stand on end. This gorgeous stripped back version would make a stunning track to accompany your first dance and welcome you into married life!

Nobody can resist the happiness that this song brings! We loved Pharrell’s version, but this acoustic cover performed by Skylar Stecker is ideal for a first dance track for something a little more upbeat. 

"You're My Best Friend" By The Once

For a song that’s fun, catchy and totally sums up your love and relationship, then how about this acoustic version of Queen’s ‘You’re my Best Friend’ as performed by Canadian folk trio The Once.

Originally performed by Beyoncé, this John Mayer version of the 2013 hit is a sensual and romantic song for your first dance. This acoustic version really works and teamed with some breathy vocals, we’re certain that this will be an option that appeals to both the bride and groom.

This beautiful version of the 1984 Leonard Cohen original is covered by John and Lindsey Skeye and is a track that I stumbled upon on Youtube. The vocals are just amazing but let us warn you, we’re pretty sure that there won’t be a dry eye in the house with this one!

Yep, I know what you’re thinking; We Found Love as in the track by Calvin Harris and Rihanna? But how can that work as a first dance song? Well, we thought exactly the same, but watch this brilliant acoustic version by Boyce Avenue and see what you reckon. It’s fun, upbeat and romantic and it’s certainly something that’s a little bit different.
