Frequently asked questions about Wine Bike Tours

What Is A Wine Bike?

A wine bike is a specially designed, multi-passenger vehicle that’s powered by pedalling! Wine bikes will usually accommodate around 10 - 16 passengers comfortably, with each seat coming equipped with a pair of pedals! The vehicle has a roof to keep you dry in the event of rain, and there’s also a bar style table which will be sure to carefully hold your cup in place whilst you get to work - who’d have thought you could combine a workout with the joy of vino? And don’t worry, you won’t have to worry about directions as a friendly (and sober) driver will steer the bike, so you'll just have to concentrate on the pedalling!

Should You Pre-book a Wine Bike?

Yes, our offered wine bike experiences are only available to groups who pre-book in advance. This allows the experience provider to cater for your group numbers (and work out how much wine to bring on board!) and ensure that a date, time and pick up point is confirmed. It also means that you’ll be able to jump straight onto the bike and get to work, as you pedal your way around the city and spot the sights!

Where Can I Go On A Wine Bike?

The experience provider will have a brilliant route mapped out for you and your group, which will allow you to take in the city’s best sights - all whilst enjoying some delicious wine of course! And don’t worry about how you’ll get from A to B - your wine bike will be driven by a professional driver who knows the route like the back of their hand, leaving you and your pals to focus on the wine, the sights and the pedalling!

How Much Wine Do You Get On a Wine Bike?

This is all dependent on your chosen wine bike provider. Some wine bikes will include unlimited wine for your bike tour, whereas others will state a bring your own bottle (BYOB) policy, so you’ll be able to bring whatever wine (be it red, white or rose) you fancy. We would recommend having a read of your preferred listing and seeing if your chosen wine bike supplies the wine or requires passengers to bring it along with them.

What Occasion is a Wine Bike Good For?

A wine bike experience is brilliant fun for any occasion! Whether you’re celebrating something special such as a birthday, hen party or stag do, or are looking to try something new with your friends, then you can look forward to enjoying some great views and having a laugh!

What Cities Can You Do A Wine Bike Tour In?

We currently offer wine bike tours in the beautiful city of Lisbon, Portugal. We’re always looking to expand our product offerings into further locations in both the UK and abroad, so do watch this space! Our Lisbon wine bike will take you on an unforgettable tour to see the city’s top sights. Expect the likes of the Belém Tower, Monument of the Discoveries, The Marina, Lisbon Bridge and plenty more iconic spots. All you’ll have to do is pedal, sip your wine and take in the stunning city views!

What Happens if It’s Raining On The Wine Bike Tour?

We’re hopeful that the weather will be positively sunny when the time comes for you to experience all the fun of a wine bike tour. However, if the weather is a bit wet on the day, then you’ll be pleased to know that your bike will have a roof to keep you dry - just make sure you’re wearing waterproof jackets or ponchos for extra protection from the rain!

Wine Bikes in the UK and Eu

Introducing the wine bike! You’ve probably heard of a beer bike or a prosecco bike before - a multi-passenger bar on wheels that’s powered entirely by pedalling. Well, this is exactly the same, except you’ll be sipping delicious vino as you pedal instead! Your wine bike will be steered by a sober driver, so you won’t have to worry about directions and getting from A to B; you’ll just need to focus on pedalling to quite literally keep those wheels in motion. Wine bikes are available in some great cities, and offer groups a unique and totally unforgettable way to catch a glimpse of the best landmarks and sights on offer. Your guide will be sure to have a great route planned out for you, so all you need to do is sit back, sip your vino and pedal, all whilst having a laugh with your pals! It really is the best way to become acquainted with a new city and bring the pub along with you at the same time!
