How Do Single People Spend Valentine's Day?

What do single people do on Valentine's Day?

Valentine’s Day is the one day of the year dedicated to couples, the love between them and the perfect chance for them to celebrate it however they wish – be it at a restaurant, on a weekend getaway or a lovey dovey night in… But as we all know, the world isn’t just made up of couples (that would be weird) and will therefore see many singletons kicking their heels and trying to think of something to do on February 14th that doesn’t leave them feeling incredibly lonely.

This brought us to ask the question: what do single people actually do with their Valentine’s Day? Being based in the hugely popular seaside city of Brighton, we’ve got a ready-made eclectic mix of singletons to ask this question… and that’s exactly what we chose to do!

The above infographic shows what we found – be it some soundbites of what we were told or for instance the fact that 7 in 10 of the people we asked said they plan on reactivating their online dating profile(s) – so if you’re a user, expect it to be a hive of activity on the 14th! Others said they would be going for the smart option of retail therapy (some to the extremes of buying a cat) and others would stay in bed and wallow in self-pity.

How about He-Toxing?

None of these sound all that good to us though, so how about having a serious He-tox? Yes, that’s right, a detoxing cleanse of all things men in our alternative-Valentine’s celebration for you and all the single ladies! We know we lay on hen parties for happily coupled up hens, but for once we thought it’s time to give back to the singles of this world.
