Liverpool Afternoon Tea

This traditionally British affair was introduced by the Duchess of Bedford who found herself getting peckish between lunch and dinner so began nibbling on snacks and tea in between. We like her style! Queen Victoria made Afternoon Tea even more popular and it became far more luxurious over the years. If it’s good enough for a Queen, ladies – it’s got to be a great way to celebrate a birthday or hen do in Liverpool, right?

Sit down with your favourite ladies and enjoy some quality time together as you munch on quality food. During a traditional Afternoon Tea, you’ll get your mitts on delicate finger sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and a selection of other sweet and savoury treats that’ll really make your mouths water. There are even veggie options, so everyone’s catered for, no matter what your taste and budget are.

Birthday or hen party Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea in Liverpool

Whether you’re looking for an activity for a party or just fancy Afternoon Tea for Two in Liverpool, there’s a range of top venues to choose from including cafes, restaurants, bars and hotels. Fancy a twist of the British tradition? Head to Las Iguanas in Liverpool for a Cuban twist that you’ll love! Forget about boring old Earl Grey, this tea is much more fun! Your group will get a teapot of their special Havana Club Rum Tea infused with lemon and grapefruit. It’s so good! As well as all this, you’ll also get dulce de leche cookies, tacos and a selection of tasty tapas. One thing’s for sure, no one’s leaving here hungry!

Can we bring our own alcohol to this event?

In most cases, unfortunately not. Browse through the listings and most will come with an alcoholic drink to accompany the tea, from prosecco to an alcoholic infused tea! Otherwise, there’s usually a bar open at the venue to purchase alcoholic drinks from on the day. It’s always best to double check with the Afternoon Tea provider beforehand so you’re aware of what’s included and what you can purchase at an extra cost on the day.

Can I decorate the area for a special occasion?

This completely depends on the venue! Pop them a message before your event and see if you can decorate the table or area for your special occasion. Some venues will prohibit balloons but may accept banners or table decorations. Please check with the provider so you know exactly what you can bring on the day to make it as special as possible for the hen, birthday person or for any other occasion!

What do I wear for Afternoon Tea?

Normally, the code of conduct is smart casual and if it’s for a special occasion it might be nice to all dress your best. However, it’s understandable that some groups may want to come in fancy dress for a hen party or birthday celebration. If this is the case, just pop the Afternoon Tea provider a message over Fizzbox and ask them what their policy is. It’s always better to check beforehand so you don’t turn up on the day in a tutu whilst everyone else is in posh wear!
